LIN FUNG, Principal, Bootstrap Alliance Mei Lin is the chair of the Core Planning Committee for Douglas Engelbart’s Bootstrap Alliance. She has been working with Dr. Engelbart for the past two years. She has been advisor to a number of Silicon Valley startups including Pharmaceutix, a next-generation drug development company, whose founders include Dr. Adele Goldberg, co-inventor of Smalltalk. Mei Lin organized and chaired the Xtreme Internet Conference, March 2000, co-founded BayStart, a startup community, and founded the Silicon Valley chapter of NetMarketMakers www.svnetmarket.org <http://www.svnetmarket.org/> . In 1988 Tom Siebel recruited her to Oracle where she stayed for 5 roller coast years, starting first with on the skunk works project that was the first CRM - Customer Relationship Management application. She worked for 5 years at Intel in Sales Finance and Distribution Marketing. She is one of the expert panel at www.crmguru.com <http://www.crmguru.com/> a community of 175,000 practitioners, where her specialty is Customer Lifetime Value. Her first job was as an assembler programmer for Shell Australia. Her second position at Shell was in the Operations Research group working on Scenario Plans for the 25 year $8B Woodside Natural Gas Project off Australia's North-West coast. She attended MIT's Sloan School, earning her MS (Management) and was privileged to study under Fischer Black, famed for "Black-Scholes Options Pricing Formula" and is honored to have studied under future Economics Nobel laureates Franco Modigliani and Robert Merton. She is on the Board of Trustees for the International School of the Peninsula, a multi-cultural bilingual immersion school in Palo Alto. |
