RICHARD W. HAMMOND
eKnowledge Management Team Leader, US EPA Region 4

After graduating from Georgia State University with a degree in geology, I spent several years working in oil and mineral exploration before migrating to environmental cleanup projects.  My experience includes several years as a field geologist and also several years in laboratory environments.

In 1990, I moved to the Environmental Protection Agency as the manager overseeing the environmental restoration of the Oak Ridge National Lab in Tennessee.  Shortly after arriving at EPA, I discovered computers and became involved in what was originally called "data management".  Since that time, I have been fortunate enough to develop the Electronic Knowledge Management Team for which I sever as team leader.
