		PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT PROCESSES IN THE CITY OF ATLANTA DAVID EDWARDS                Program Management Officer, Office of the Mayor, City of Atlanta
		Performance management systems, widely used in the private sector, are relatively new to public sector organizations.  The City of Atlanta is pioneering the use of such systems in municipal governance through its development of the "Atlanta Dashboard".  The Dashboard serves as the central mechanism used by the Mayor and her senior staff to set strategic performance targets, track progress against those targets, and publish the results to the public.  Mr. Edwards will describe how the Dashboard was developed, how the City uses the Dashboard, and he will provide a live demonstration.
