Dr. GISELE BENNETT is the director of the Logistics and Maintenance Applied Research Center (LandMARC) with the Georgia Tech Research Institute and Associate Professor with the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Her areas of interest include automatic identification technologies that include both RFID and optical tagging, Electronic Performance Support Systems (EPSS) and optical signal processing. She is currently developing EPSS as applied to the improvement of technician performance in a maintenance work center. Her projects include the design and testing of RFID's for monitoring condition and location of assets, design of performance support technology for the Navy's P-3 platform, and the development of a web-based tracking system and data configuration for the vertical takeoff unmanned air vehicle (VTUAV) program. In conjunction with this technology, Dr. Bennett has worked on applications of XML and SGML technologies. BRETT BURKE CEO, Data Technology Group Mr. Burke has over 25 years of technology related experience and has been directly involved in upper management in three start-up technology companies over his past career. Brett holds a engineering certification as a Registered Communication Distribution Designer from BICSI the governing body of Telecommunication Infrastructure. He comes to DTG from MasTec Network Services NYSE ( MAST) , a American based Technology company where he held the position of Senior Vice President of Operations later moving up to run both operations & sales for the entire Southeastern US. Brett also served as Vice President of Sales for one of the largest engineering firms in the US Burnup & Sims, which later was purchased by MasTec. At Burnup & Sims he was responsible for the growth and increasing revenue through strategic account partnerships and marketing campaigns, which made B&S viable for the purchase by MasTec. Brett has been involved in the development of companies from the young age of 19, where his family turned a small communications company into one of the Southeast's largest privately held ventures, later to purchased by the national renown BLACKBOX, Inc. BOB NONNEMAN Industrial Engineering Manager, UPS Corporate Engineering Group Bob has been with UPS for 25 years and held various positions in District and Regional Operations, Information Services and Industrial Engineering. Bob’s most recent assignment has been coordinating the activities of the RFID initiative at UPS. This includes working across business units to develop business cases, conducting pilot evaluations and managing internal and external information. Bob was a member of the MIT Auto-ID Center Board of Overseers from 2001 through 2003. He is currently the UPS representative to EPCglobal and chairs a working committee on Business Requirements. TERRY TOWE Terry is the Senior Supply Chain Specialist with The North Highland Company, with over 25 years of experience: specializing in Supply Chain Management, Lean Manufacturing, ERP, business process reengineering and business systems integration. Prior to joining North Highland, he has held senior positions in industry and with consulting and software companies in Europe and the United States. Terry is leading RFID initiatives for North Highland across a range of industries. He has spent the last 2 years researching and developing industry specific offerings and working with suppliers of RFID tags, readers, middleware and ERP systems. He is currently assisting North Highland clients with their RFID strategy, process improvements, proof of concept and roadmap for deployment. Terry has a BSC in Production Technology and Production Management, Aston University UK, Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering, Cranfield Institute of Technology UK, Chartered Production and Industrial Engineer |
