MEETING LOCAL TO REGIONAL GOVERNMENT SERVICE CHALLENGES THROUGH THE APPLICATION OF INTEROPERABLE SOLUTIONS AND BEST PRACTICES




Greater demand for efficiency in service delivery, coupled with the growing need for greater regional to national coordination on issues such as health, crime, natural disasters and Homeland Security, present significant challenges to local government. This panel will address alternatives for improving government service provision through adoption of standards-based solutions.   

Panelists will focus on successes, challenges, and recommended best practices in applying standards based solutions.

Mark Reichardt will discuss the local to national government issues that are driving the standards development, and will discuss how the technology community is mobilizing standards based solutions. 

Carl Anderson will share his experience with Fulton County utilization of OpenGIS specification.
